THERAPY
IS IT FOR YOU?
Coming to therapy takes courage
The courage to explore and challenge your own thoughts and behaviour
The courage to clear away debris from the cluttered corners of your life
The courage to follow the dreams nestled deep within your heart
The courage to believe in your natural potential to heal
The courage to gain new insights and act upon them
The courage to take charge of your life
There are times in life when you feel that the very fabric of your soul has been torn. Times of unspeakable loss and grief when life has lost meaning and purpose. At other times, you may feel overcome by unexplained and prolonged sadness and fatigue. You feel worthless and disconnected. You find that your low self-esteem makes you avoid people and new challenges.
Or you may feel agitated and irritable. You obsess about scenarios that fill you with worry and dread. You had panic attacks and live in fear that they will happen again. You may feel trapped in unfulfilling relationships or careers and no matter how hard you try, you fail to snap out as if you are re-enacting the same old, dusted script.
You find that no matter how much you understand the need for it, you cannot rid yourself of habits that endanger your health and well-being. You blame your lack of willpower and get frustrated that you cannot control your self-destructive behaviours. You may struggle endlessly with your weight, and have tried all diets known to mankind only to see that in the long term your sacrifice has not paid off and that you are heavier than the year before.
Or you may feel defeated by debilitating health conditions, fully aware that stress worsens diseases like psoriasis or IBS, and many more, and yet you find yourself unable to break the vicious circle. There are times however when you may find that you have it in you to achieve more, to relate better to people, if only you knew how.
If any of these experiences sound familiar
then therapy may be the right choice for you.
In our age of 'reason' you have been conditioned to believe that people run on logic alone. But who is really minding your mind? Is it only your conscious awareness? Or is that only the 'tip of the iceberg'? Memories, emotions, intuition, imagination and unresolved traumas all reside in the subconscious. As do the negative, nagging thoughts which can lead to depression or anxiety. Habits, for example, are repetitive and automatic patterns, deeply rooted in the subconscious mind. That is why sheer reason will not break them easily.
Therapy is not a manual for anyone’s life. Therapy is about progress not perfection. It is not the kind of advice you normally receive from family and friends. Therapy is a structured approach based on major theories of the mind that will empower you to become more resourceful to live the life you want. Therapy will not control your mind. On the contrary, it will give you the tools to gain more control over your mind.

My commitment to you is to offer a confidential, non-judgmental and interactive relationship and to facilitate beneficial changes. My training allows me to use an integrative approach drawn from cognitive, humanistic and psychodynamic therapies. Hypnotherapy and NLP are often used as part of the treatment.
